Introductions
The RC150 AC Leakage Current Detector is a
highprecision currentdetector. In any electrical installation, some current will flow through theprotective insulation layer to the ground. This is
usually called leakagecurrent. However, leakage current can be very dangerous if it exceeds thepermissible safe limit. Not only it may cause the equipment to overload andmalfunction, but also it may cause harm to people. The S150 helps the userquickly identify, locate, trace as well as monitor the leakage current toprevent these preventable problems all without taking equipment offline.
The iron core of the current sensor is made outof nickel alloy, with high magnetic permeability and high linearity, able to conductaccurate yet
precise tests, while at the same time not affected by other external magnetic fields.
It can be used to measure current, leakagecurrent, frequency, and conduct waveform analysis. It is highly accurate with0.1mA resolution, so it
can be used even in settings such as measuring theleakage current of the transformer core ground

Basic operations
Press the POWER button to turnon and off the instrument. If the LCD keeps flickering after turning on, thebattery level may be low.
Please replace the battery and press the POWER buttonto turn it off. The instrument will automatically shut down after 30 minutes ofinactivity, press any buttons to cancel the automatic shutdown.
After the instrument has been turned on, the users will be able toselect testing, view data, delete data, numbering setting, clock setting,
andalarm setting. Press the left and right arrows to select, and press ENTER toconfirm. Press the ESC button to return to the previous page.
On the testing page, it will display information such as current, frequency, waveforms, numberings, and time. Press the HOLD button to lock andsave the data and the HD symbol will be displayed, press the button again tocancel the hold. The saved data are automatically numbered, for example, S:001,up to 200 sets of data can be saved. Also, the users can press the up and downarrows to adjust the LCD backlight brightness.
On the view data page, the RD symbol will be displayed, press the leftor right arrows to increase or decrease the step value (1, 10, 100), press
theup and down arrows to browse the data.
On the delete data page, press the left and right arrow to select, andpress ENTER to confirm (all data will be deleted). Once the data is deleted, itcannot be recovered, please operate with caution.
On the numbering settings, time settings, or alarm settings pages, users will be able to select eachsetting using the left and right arrows, and the up and down arrows to adjustthe value. Press the
ESC button to return to the previous page.
A USB communication comes with this instrumentset, it can be used to upload saved data onto a computer. Which can then besaved,
organized, or printed. The saved data can be saved in Txt or Excelformat.
Testing
Caution | Danger: electricity! It must be operated by trained and authorized personnel. The operator must strictly abide by the safety rules, otherwise, there is a danger of electric shock, causing severe personal injury or equipment damage. |
DO NOT use it on cables that exceed 1000V |
Connect the CT clamp to the instrument, turn onthe instrument and enter testing mode.
Use the clamp and clamp onto the circuit thatneeds to be tested. The data should immediately appear on the instrument, however, if it displays OL, then the circuit has exceeded that measurable rangeof the instrument.
The waveforms displayed on theinstrument are automatically enhanced/zoomed in, therefore the current cannotbe judged based on the
amplitude of the waveform;
Before measuring the lowcurrent (0.1mA~1.00A), to ensure the accuracy of the measurement, the clampmust be manually opened and closed
twice. After the instrument display currentvalue is less than 10.0mA, then clamp on to the core or wire for measurement;
When measuring low currents (0.1mA~1.00A), due to the magnetic leakage ofthe current clamp, the current value will decrease with time
during themeasurement process, resulting in an inaccurate measurement. Therefore, the most accurate result is when the data is stable for
around 5seconds. To obtain accurate results again, please remove the clamp from thecircuit being tested and clamp onto it again.
When testing, the conductor should be positionedat the middle of the clamp. (when measuring low current, the readings willdiffer based on
the position in the clamp)

Cautions
Clamp the ground wire to measure the leakage current of the ground wire of the electrical equipment. (clamp only 1 wire). |
Clamp the hot wire or the neutral wire alone to measure the current of the specific circuit (clamp only 1 wire). |
Clamp the live wire and the neutral wire together to measure the single-phase leakage current (clamp 2 wires). |
Clamp the three-phase 3-wire together to measure the leakage current of the three-phase 3-wire (clamp 3 wires). |
Clamp the three-phase four-wire together to measure the leakage current of the three-phase four-wire (clamp 4 wires). |
Clamp the three-phase five-wire together to measure the leakage current of the three-phase five-wire (clamp 5 wires). |
For your safety, when measuring high voltage and large current, after operating the testing correctly, please remove the instrument away from the conductor under test |
