I. Overview
Measuring insulation resistance is the simplest and fastest basic method for checking the insulation
performance of electrical equipment. Ruice Power, referencing various domestic and international
water-cooled generator insulation resistance testers, designed the RC2678A water-cooled generator
insulation tester. This instrument features a novel measurement principle, simple operation, high
accuracy, and a fully integrated circuit design, resulting in strong shock resistance, good operational
stability, high output short-circuit current, and strong anti-interference capabilities in field
environments, meeting the current testing requirements of power plants. The instrument has timing,
alarm, and data storage functions, and can conveniently measure parameters such as insulation
resistance, absorption ratio, and polarization index.
II. Performance Characteristics
1. Chinese menu operation, easy to use.
2. Fully automatic measurement of parameters such as insulation resistance, absorption ratio,
and polarization index.
3. Retains data for 15 seconds and every minute until the 10th minute, with automatic timing.
4. Can store 10 sets of measurement data for easy analysis and archiving.
5. Comprehensive functions, including testing, storage, alarm, and retrieval.
6. Automatic discharge after testing.
7. High output short-circuit current and strong anti-interference capability.

IV. Instrument Control Components
1. Display: Dot-matrix LCD.
2. Winding Terminal: High-voltage line terminal, outputs DC high voltage, connected to
the motor winding. (L)
3. Water Collector: Shielded terminal, connected to the water collector. (G)
4. Housing: Measuring terminals, connected to the housing.
(E)
5. : Grounding terminal, connected to earth.
6. Reset Button: Resets the entire unit; pressing this button returns the unit to its initial state.
7. Selection Button: Used for menu item selection and data page turning.
8. Start Button: Confirms the selected option.
9. Brightness: Brightness increase and decrease buttons change the display contrast.
10. High Voltage: When the "High Voltage" button is pressed, high voltage is activated; otherwise,
the instrument will not output high voltage, serving as a safety protection switch.
Note: Pressing the selection button and the reset button simultaneously clears the data area.
Pressing the start button and the reset button simultaneously performs a data query; in this case,
the selection and start buttons can be used for group query and single-group page turning.
